How does Richmond County Schools Support New Teachers...

Jill Rogers, the STEM Coordinator, collaborates with teachers to seamlessly integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) components into their lesson plans, fostering a dynamic and innovative learning environment.

The Beginning Teachers Program provides comprehensive mentorship and training, offering continuous support to new educators during their first three years, ensuring a solid foundation for their growth and success in the field of education.

New teachers receive support from multiple levels in Richmond County Schools. The Director of beginning teachers and Curriculum Directors provide guidance and training from the district level and each school has an instructional coach to assist teachers in instruction and planning.

Beginning teachers are offered a multitude of professional development opportunities through their mentorship program, district wide development days and individual online classes.

Richmond County Chamber of Commerce host a welcome event for new teachers to assist them in getting settled in their new career and community.

A technology facilitator is available at every school to support and assist teachers in effectively utilizing educational technology platforms.

Educators are invited to join the Inspiring Leaders Program, facilitated by Cheryl Fuller, offering leadership training for teachers who may want to advance in their careers. With over 36 years of experience in education as a teacher, counselor, principal, professional development provider, and education consultant, Fuller brings a wealth of expertise to the program.
